EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

What is the Emotional Freedom Technique?

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) is like psychological acupressure without the invasiveness of needles. Acupressure and acupuncture have its origin way back over 5000 years ago, in the Ancient Chinese Shaolin and Taoist monasteries. The role of acupressure has been paramount in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and it is still in use today which is a testimony to its effectiveness in the treatment of illness and pain.

Chi or prana which is the vital energy circulates in pathways in the body called meridians. Blockage of this stream or disproportion in Yin and Yang can cause illness and pain. Acupressure helps to correct these imbalances to restore the optimum flow thus returning the body to a more natural state of well-being. Acupressure is essentially a method of sending a signal to the body using a needle or pressure to “turn on” its own self-healing or regulatory mechanisms.

Our thoughts and emotions can also cause these blockages and imbalance. EFT involves tapping on certain points on the face and body to manage these subtle energies and meridians to release the blockages. This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear the “short-circuit” — the emotional block — from your body’s bioenergy system, thus restoring your mind and body’s balance, which is essential for optimal health and the healing of physical disease.
